| Who are we?
We are a group of outdoors enthusiasts who love the trails in the Olympic Peninsula enough to volunteer a great deal of our free time keeping them clear and passable. We love to cut out logs, remove root balls from downed trees that block the trails, and clean up the trail tread. Our goal is to keep the trails open so that all the hikers, backpackers, horsemen and bicyclists have nice clear trails to enjoy. We also try to make trails accessible to people with limited abilities, whenever possible. We are affiliated with the Washington State Parks, Olympic National Forest, and Olympic National Park, and coordinate our work parties through their trail maintenance management teams. We partner and work with the Back Country Horsemen of Washington, Peninsula Chapter, and work to keep horse trails open. Our trail and back country skills are extensive, and we are certified with the National Forest and Park Service as Sawyers - for both chainsaw and crosscut saws. Several of us are either crew leaders or assistant crew leaders with the Washington Trails Association. And last but not least, we are friends who enjoy each others' company. |
